Community Meeting About Wolf Creek Dam In Gallatin

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will have a public meeting Thursday on the Wolf Creek Dam Rehabilitation Project in Gallatin.

Conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Gallatin Civic Center, 210 Albert Gallatin Ave.

The Corps encourages attendees to arrive by 5 p.m. to view maps and ask individual questions about specific properties.

The maps show estimates of flooded areas based on a range of failure scenarios, according to a news release from the U.S. Corps of Engineers.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers had a public meeting last week on the planning, design and management of seepage at Wolf Creek and Center Hill dams at Nashville's Millennium Maxwell House Hotel.

It was the first informational meeting for the public to discuss the aging dams.

There was also a meeting Monday night at Hendersonville First Baptist Church in Hendersonville.

For more information about the meeting Thursday, call the Gallatin mayor's office at 452-5400.
