Vegas Police Talk To Pacman About Shooting

LAS VEGAS- Police in Las Vegas interviewed Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, who they believe was present during a shooting outside a club Monday morning.

Jones was in town for the NBA All-Star game.

Authorities said that Jones, rapper Nelly and music producer and Janet Jackson's boyfriend Jermaine Dupri reportedly walked into a club called Minxx Gentleman's Club where there was a post-game party.

Several celebrities were present. According to news reports witnesses said celebrities started throwing money at the club's exotic dancers before security kicked patrons out of the business.

Then gunshots were fired outside. Police said that three people were shot including two security guards. One was in critical condition after the incident.

Worrick Robinson, Jones' attorney, said Jones saw the fight. He left the club and then witnessed the shooting. He got into a car with some friends and they left.

"His comment was that ‘When there's one gunfight there's a lot of times a second one and you don't want to get caught up in that,'" Robinson said.

Police later questioned Jones. The attorney has not talked to Jones since the police interview but said the cornerback has not been charged.

Robinson says Pacman attended the event because he thought there would be better security.

"I think you look at where he was. He was in Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps. He was there with friends and for an NBA All-star weekend. He was invited to go to a club and he went to the club," Robinson said.

Earlier this month, a judge dismissed an assault charge against him, citing too many inconsistencies in the alleged victim's testimony.

Krystal Webb, a Tennessee State University student who filed the charge, said Jones spit at her at a Nashville night club in October.

Jones testified that the NFL had already fined him $100,000, an amount he hoped to have refunded to him after the dismissal.

"I've learned my lesson," Jones told NewsChannel 5 after the court proceeding. "I'm a bigger target than I was before this incident so now I really have to watch where I go - maybe I'll chill out at a jazz bar."

While Titan Head Coach Jeff Fisher has not publicly talked about the Las Vegas incident, he said the team would not tolerate problems on or off the field by any of the players in a news conference when the season wrapped up.

"We have a very solid, concrete disciplinary structure in this organization and we hold players to the highest standards," Fisher said. "If they violate any type of club discipline or league discipline then they will be punished."
