Missing Mother, Daughter Presumed Dead

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn.- A mother and her toddler daughter, missing since 2004, are presumed dead, authorities said.

Friends and family gathered Saturday at Owens Chapel Church for a tribute to Jennifer Wix and her daughter, Adrianna, who was 2 when the pair vanished on March 24, 2004.

Every year, they gather at the church, which was the last place they were seen.

"This one's very different," said Peggy Calvert, Wix's grandmother. "Now we all pray that we hear from them tomorrow."

Investigators initially thought the pair ran away but now suspect they were killed.

Loved ones said they suspected foul play from the moment the pair went missing.

Last week, the Robertson County Sheriff's Office told Kathy Holloway, Jennifer Wix's mother, that her daughter and granddaughter would probably never come home.

"They're far, far away from me," Holloway said. "They're never far away from my heart. They're in my heart all the time. I think about ‘em every day."

Now, one sad realization has changed so much.

The family is offering money not for a safe return, but instead for justice.

"For our family to have closure and for our girls to rest in peace," Holloway said.

"You can't imagine the strength of prayer in my heart, watching those balloons released,"

Calvert said watching balloons released in the air in memory of her granddaughter and great granddaughter.

Each year, the family sends up the little reminders for Jennifer and Adrianna.

"The others we put notes in, saying if she Jennifer or Adrianna, call us," Calvert said. "These don't have notes in 'em."

Perhaps this, the third anniversary, is the hardest of them all for the family of Jennifer and Adrianna Wix.

"My mother's heart tells me that this is the last year we'll gather like this," Holloway said. "That we'll we have answers this year, I think this is the year."

The current reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the disappearance of Jennifer and Adrianna is $25,000

If anyone has information on the case, they are urged to call the Robertson County Sheriff's Department at 615-384-7971.
