Closing Arguments In John Ford Trial

(AP) MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Jurors in Memphis got a second look at eight undercover videos of former state Senator John Ford taking stacks of $100 bills from the FBI.

The videos were shown Tuesday as prosecutors wrapped up their arguments at his extortion and bribery trial.

Ford did not testify as his lawyer called just three witnesses for the defense after two weeks of prosecution testimony.

Ford's lawyer is to make his trial summation Wednesday.

Ford is one of five current or former state lawmakers charged in the Tennessee Waltz undercover operation. It was built around E-Cycle Management, an FBI front company offering money for legislative favors.

The 64-year-old Ford is accused of accepting $55,000.

He also faces unrelated federal charges in Nashville on accusations of taking $800,000 in improper payments from state contractors.
