MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- The trial schedule for former state Sen. Kathryn Bowers of Memphis remains on track following the bribery conviction of fellow Tennessee lawmaker John Ford.
Bowers and Ford are among five current or former state lawmakers charged in the FBI investigation code-named Tennessee Waltz and built around a fake computer recycling company called E-Cycle Management.
A federal court jury convicted Ford on Friday, and Bowers is scheduled for trial on similar Tennessee Waltz charges on Sept. 10.
Her lawyer, William Massey, said he had not had time to discuss Ford's conviction with Bowers and was unsure if it would affect her determination to go to trial rather than trying to work out a plea agreement.
Also awaiting trial is Sen. Ward Crutchfield of Cleveland.
