Fabric CD box

1) Cut out pieces:

• Exterior: one 26" x 7 1/4" strip and one 7 1/4" x 7 1/4" square
• Interior: one 26" x 7 1/4" strip and one 7 1/4" x 7 1/4" square
• Heavy duty interfacing: one 25.5" x 6.5" strip and one 6.5"x 6.5" square
• Handles: from exterior material--two pieces 6"x 4" and from the interfacing: two 5" x 1" pieces

2) assemble all 3 boxes: the interior, exterior and the interfacing

• Clip bottom edge of all strips just a quarter inch into material
• For the interior and exterior: at the following increments: 6 3/4", 13", 19 1/4"
• For the interfacing: 6 3/8", 12 1/8", and 18 7/8"
• Sew strips into circles with right sides together
• Sew the bottom square to the loops of the box's walls, turn the stitching wherever there is a clip, leaving a 1/2 inch seam allowance
• Clip the corners of boxes and turn exterior and interfacing right sides out.

3) Attach interfacing to exterior

4) Slip the INTERIOR over the outside of the INTERIOR/INTERFACING.

Make sure the right side of the EXTERIOR and the right side of the INTERIOR are touching. Stitch around the top of the box, leaving enough of a hole to turn the whole thing inside out.

5) Turn box, press, and top stitch around the top.

6) Handles:

-Fold the fabric piece in half and stitch a 1/2 inch seam allowance.

(You'll now have a 6" x 2" strip). Clip the corners and turn right side out.

-Insert the interfacing pieces

-fold the remainder fabric in and pin, then top stitch

-Attach to box. This is tricky, but be patient and keep trying!
