FRANKLIN, Ky. (AP) -- Saturday is opening day of the annual six-day meet at the Kentucky Downs horse racing track on the Tennessee-Kentucky line just north of Nashville.

There will be live racing on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday for the next two weeks.

The facility simulcasts races from other tracks across the country during the rest of the year.

Because the track is just inside the Kentucky line, wagering is legal.

Some of the jockeys scheduled to ride Saturday include Luis Espinosa, Phil Teator, Jesus Castanon, Charles Woods and Joe Johnson. There will be six races.
