NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro police arrested the owner of an East Nashville group home.

Elaine Peebles is accused of trying to kidnap a resident and steal his money.

Witnesses said Peebles forced the resident to give her his monthly government check and when he tried to move out, she and a family member used force to keep him from leaving.

Last month, Peebles told police another resident at that same group home wandered off. The woman's body was found a week later in nearby Shelby Park.
