The Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro will continue receiving federal monies after a crucial inspection Thursday.
The federal government had threatened to cut off Medicare funding to the state-run nursing home unless it could prove that it had corrected problems that have plagued it in the past.
During an inspection three weeks ago, state regulators found critical violations that put patients in danger.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services told the facility it had until Thursday to make substantial changes, or else lose the money.
CMS officials say they believe patients are no longer in immediate danger at the home.
NewsChannel 5 has exposed continuing problems at the facility for the last year and a half.
