NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A state investigation confirmed what a NewsChannel 5 investigation uncovered about Bill Heard Chevrolet last year.
On Tuesday, the state fined the self-proclaimed "world's largest Chevy dealer" $15,000.
The Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission said a Bill Heard employee inflated the income of two customers on credit applications without the customers' knowledge.
The state began looking into questionable business practices at the Antioch dealership after a NewsChannel 5 investigation found one customer after another who wound up with cars they couldn't afford. They received the vehicles due to falsified loan documents.
Earlier this year, Bill Heard sold the Antioch dealership and moved out of Middle Tennessee although it still operates dealerships around the country.
