Teacher Pregnant With Student's Baby

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A former Catholic high school teacher who slept with a 17-year-old student is pregnant with his child.

Dianne Dieterich told her parole officer about the pregnancy and it was revealed in a Thursday court hearing.

The former teacher at Knoxville's Catholic High School pleaded guilty in September to statutory rape and was sentenced to four years of probation. She was fired from the school.

A judge ruled Thursday that she qualifies for judicial diversion, which could allow the charge to be erased if she completes her sentence without violations.
