NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Disaster recovery centers are now open in Williamson, Benton and Hickman counties.
The state of Tennessee and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) opened the facilities to help residents who sustained losses in the tornadoes and severe storms of Feb. 5-6.
Before visiting a DRC, disaster survivors should apply for assistance at (800) 621-FEMA (3362), TTY (800) 462-7585 or go online at www.fema.gov.
When disaster-affected residents visit a DRC they should bring identification, social security numbers, insurance information, proof of address and contact phone numbers in order to help speed up the application process.
The centers will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., until further notice.
