FEMA: 100 Mobile Homes Needed In TN

Posted:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency said it needs about 100 mobile homes for Tennesseans who lost homes after this month's deadly tornadoes.

Jay Eaker, a FEMA spokesman in Tennessee, said the agency is also providing other housing options such as hotels or using federal grant money to purchase mobile homes.

In Arkansas, less than 70 applicants have been asking for mobile homes or stays in hotels or rental property after the storms.

FEMA slowed the release of mobile homes at the Hope, Ark., airport after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced tests on trailers used after 2005 hurricanes along the Gulf Coast found high levels of formaldehyde.
