Inmates Help Tiny Tornado Victim

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - More than 100 inmates housed at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution are lending support to the tiniest victim of the February tornadoes.

The inmates donated $244.68 to a trust fund for 11-month-old Kyson Stowell.

He is the infant who survived the storm that tore through Castilian Springs.

The storm killed his mother and destroyed their home.

After learning of Kyson's story, the inmates pulled together to give.

Most of the inmates earn 17 to 54 cents an hour from jobs at the institution, according to a Tennessee Department of Correction spokeswoman.

Instead of ordering food for themselves, they decided to give to the baby.

Their donations were sent to SunTrust Bank.
