LAFAYETTE, Tenn. - It's been nearly two months since deadly tornadoes ripped across Tennessee.
More than 30 people died. Also, the storms displaced families and destroyed homes and businesses.
On Monday, mobile homes from the Federal Emergency Management Agency were delivered Macon County, the state's hardest-hit area. The storms killed 14 people in Macon County.
Eight homes were delivered. People who qualified for federal disaster aid received the homes.
There was a delay in transporting the homes because of the threat of dangerous levels of formaldehyde. The homes were inspected and deemed safe before they were delivered to Macon County.
FEMA expects to deliver 40 mobile homes to the Middle Tennessee county.
Recipients of the initial eight homes are expected to move in by this weekend.
