Taxes Must Be In By Midnight Tonight

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Today is April 15, which means it is tax day!

Every year millions of people wait until the very last minute to file their taxes. People wait in long lines at places like the post office and Jackson Hewitt.

Expecting the rush, many agencies beefed up staffing for the last minute rush.

If you planed to drop your taxes off at the post office, know that fewer post offices stay open late at tax time. Post offices haven't extended their hours this tax time because more people file online.

At the same time, the post office by the Nashville Airport opens on weeknights until midnight.

A tax return can be dropped into any blue mailbox in front of a post office until midnight.

Anyone who planned on dropping their tax returns off at any other blue mailbox box, make sure to get it in there before the last scheduled pick-up.

Also make sure proper postage is used.
