NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Division of Consumer Affairs issued a warning about auto warranty scams days after a NewsChannel 5 investigation showed how Tennesseans were falling victim to some of these offers.
They often arrive in the mail and resemble official letters from automakers alerting owners that their car's warranty is about to expire.
But, victims said that after spending thousands of dollars on their extended warranties, the companies wouldn't pay when their cars needed repairs.
