NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro Police Chief Ronal Serpas announced the promotion of two lieutenants and command shifts throughout the department.

Metro Lt. Damian Huggins, a 16-year department veteran, will become commander of the Central Precinct effective Sunday. He serves as a day shift supervisor in the Hermitage Precinct. He will succeed Andy Garrett, who will become chief of the Mount Juliet Police Department in July.

Metro Lt. Michele Donegan, a 21-year department veteran, will become one of two field supervising captains effective Sunday. She currently heads the police department's recruiting operations.

Five existing captains will assume new responsibilities effective Sunday. Captain Mike Hagar, director of training, will head the identification division.  He will oversee crime lab renovations and a new DNA testing component if it's approved by the Metro Council.

Captain Ben Dicke will become the executive officer in the Administrative Services Bureau under Deputy Chief Honey Pike.

Captain David Imhof, a field supervisor, will head the Criminal Investigations Division.

Captain Chris Taylor, who heads the Criminal Investigations, will become the executive officer in the Field Operations Bureau under Deputy Chief Joseph Bishop.

Captain Jason Reinbold, executive officer in the Field Operations Bureau, will become the director of training.

"Lieutenants Huggins and Donegan have for many years dedicated themselves to the citizens of Nashville and have excelled in their police department careers," Serpas said in a news release.  "I have every confidence they will succeed in these new leadership roles."
