Meatballs
1 lb pork sausage
1 lb ground beef
1/2 c dry bread crumbs
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c milk
1/2 c finely chopped onion
1/2 t salt
1/2 t pepper
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Combine all the meatball ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Blend well with your hands. Form into 1 1/2 inch balls. Place them in an ungreased baking sheet (with sides to catch the grease) or on a jelly roll pan. Bake about 30 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Meatballs may be frozen and reheated at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.
Apple Butter Jack Sauce
3/4 c spicy brown mustard
1/2 c apple butter
1/3 c whiskey
1/4 c brown sugar
1 T cider vinegar
1 T Worcestershire sauce
Salt and black pepper to taste
Hot pepper sauce, to taste
Combine all the sauce ingredients in a large skillet. Stir until well blended. Stir in cooked meatballs. Coat with sauce and cook about 5 minutes until sauce has thickened slightly. Serve with toothpicks.
Makes about 50 meatballs.
