Tennis Quite A Racket For Students

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Most schools will be back in session in about a month from now, but until then, many students are enjoying time at camp.

At one camp many students put up quite a racket.

During a recent trip, instructor Jen Siebold welcomed a new set of students into the world of tennis.

The group of 6-10 year olds practiced their lobbing skills in a competition.

"They must be first-time moms because I would never choose that place to sit," said one adult onlooker. "I would be sitting on the bleachers behind the fence. "

"Very rarely but on occasion do the balls go over the fence," Siebold said.

The children caught on to how fun tennis could be especially when they won the match.

"They've got some potential. Got some potential. We'll see. You never know. Maybe there's the male version of the Williams sister right here," said one spectator.

When the older students arrived, there was a warm up and quick course on forehand before they competed.

The tennis camp is sponsored by the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department.
