Marcus Washington joined NewsChannel5 in May 2008 as a reporter, but he's no stranger to Tennessee. He grew up in the "home of Blues and Rock n' Roll," Memphis, Tennessee.
Before returning to his home state, Marcus worked at KOKI-TV (FOX) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was honored for his reporting by the Oklahoma Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Marcus has also worked as a reporter in Charlottesville, Virginia, WCAV-TV (CBS) and as an associate producer at Memphis, Tennessee's WREG-TV (CBS).
Marcus is a member of The National Association of Black Journalists, former Vice-President of Tulsa Association of Black Journalists and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
Marcus is a proud graduate of the University of Memphis, but looks forward to meeting and getting to know more about Middle Tennessee and the people in the community.
