NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Branch of the NAACP sent a letter to the Metro School Board asking them to rescind the recently approved rezoning plan.
In the letter, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People addresses various issues including the time spent researching the plan and transportation provisions for students.
On Monday, the group talked about what they expect to get out of filing the letter.
"Rescind the vote and come up with a decent plan. Not this rump plan, not this ad hoc plan," said one member.
The next meeting on the rezoning issue is scheduled to take place Tuesday, Aug. 12.
