NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Middle and high school students built robots that were pitted against each other during a special camp held at Lipscomb University.
The robotics camp, known as Lipscomb BisonBot, allowed students to learn and apply mechanical principles.
"They learn about construction techniques," said Greg Nordstrom, Lipscomb associate professor of engineering.
Nordstrom coordinates the camp. "They learn about electronics, how to work in teams. The focus is really to teach them how engineers work."
But it wasn't necessarily easy.
"We first had to start planning it, and coming up with a design and we kind of threw our ideas in and came up with this," said one girl showing her team's robot.
Students attended the camp over two weeks.
