TSU Wins In John Merritt Classic

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The bands were booming at the 10th Annual John Merritt classic. Tennessee State hosted Southern University for the game Saturday night at LP field.

The Tigers were trailing 11 to nothing in the third quarter. Antonio Heffner, eludes the rush, but as he got rid of it, he was crushed. The ball fell into the hands of Chris Johnson, and Johnson with a big blue caravan paving the way, goes ahead for the touchdown.

After another Southern touchdown, TSU was back on the attack. Heffner rolled out and found Johnson again, this time for the nine yard score.

Tigers rallied from behind to grab the 34-32 win.
