1 c boiling water 2 c Bran Buds cereal 1/2 c vegetable shortening 1 1/2 c sugar 2 eggs, beaten 2 c buttermilk 1 c All Bran cereal 2 1/2 t soda, dissolved in 2 c buttermilk 2 1/2 c all-purpose flour 1/2 t salt 2 c raisins
Assemble ingredients and utensils. In a bowl, pour water over Bran Buds, let set for 1 hour. In large bowl of mixer, mix shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Mix. Add bran cereal/water mixture, buttermilk/soda mixture, and AllBran. Combine flour and salt and gradually mix into the bowl. Stir in raisins. Pour into medium size muffin tins. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Yield about 3 dozen muffins.
