3 cups LG Pinot Noir (red wine)
1 cup sugar
1 stick cinnamon
3 each cloves
3 strips fresh lemon peel
3 whole black peppercorns
3 each fresh pears, peeled, cut in half
1 pint fresh vanilla bean ice cream
1 cup whipped cream
Nutmeg to taste
1 bunch fresh mint
Combine the wine, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, peppercorn, lemon peel, in a mid size sauce pan.
Bring to a boil, until the sugar is dissolved, reduced heat and let simmer for few minutes.
Add the pears, and let cook until soft, pouring the syrup on top occasionally.
Place the half pears in a bowl, top with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, whipped cream, mint and nutmeg. Serve while is hot.
