Police Warn Senior Citizens About Assaults

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Someone has been holding up elderly women at gunpoint.

Junita Faircloth, 79, said a woman was waiting in her driveway at her Donelson home on Halloween.

"I opened my door and there she stood," she said.

Faircloth said she was on her way home from a nearby fast food restaurant.

She noticed a red car following her but thought nothing of it, until she got out of her driveway and at her door there was a stranger asking for directions.

Faircloth said the woman pointed a gun at her and demanded her purse.

Police said two women are the suspects. Their actions were caught on surveillance video using stolen credit cards.

Police believe they are the same women who robbed two elderly women in West Nashville in the same week

After the robbery, Fairchild said the suspect withdrew $400 from her bank account and charged $20 worth of gas.

Faircloth said the crime robbed her not only of money but her security. She said she's afraid to do anything unless someone's with her.

If anyone has seen the women in surveillance pictures released by police call CrimeStoppers at 74-CRIME.
