On this edition of The Plus Side of Nashville, Tuwanda Coleman introduces us to Against the Grain, a local non-profit organization that helps women in need. We'll meet the founders of the organization Rob and Meredith Kendall and learn how they got it started and we'll meet Donyall Howard who will share what Against the Grain has meant to her.
Tuwanda will also talk with Amber Barfield and Wayne Moore of the Tennessee State Library and Archives. They'll share with us some of the exciting exhibits on display as well as some of the many services the TSLA offers.
United Neighborhood Health Services / NES
Airs February 4-8, February 18-22
This month on The Plus Side of Nashville, we'll talk about United Neighborhood Health Services. They are now operating the downtown clinic that serves Nashville's homeless population. Plus, they are operating a mobile health van that goes to places where homeless people gather - such as shelters and church feeding programs - to provide them with the health services that they need. For more information, visit (615) 620-UNHS (8647).
Plus, we'll talk with Laurie Parker of the Nashville Electric Service. She'll explain why the TVA has raised prices in recent months, discuss how NES is trying to help customers who are struggling with their bills, and tell us how we can save energy and money each month by making small changes in our homes.
