Levi Ismail is an Emmy-award winning journalist for NewsChannel5’s prestigious investigative unit.
Ever since high school, he’s been in front of or behind a camera producing everything from short films to the stories you now see in Nashville. Levi had stops in Florida, Iowa and Houston, while building a reputation for strong storytelling on a variety of issues. In 2018, Levi was part of a national Edward R. Murrow award-winning team for Breaking News Coverage after interviewing a student who survived being shot in the head during the Santa Fe School Shooting in Texas.
More recently, Levi earned an Emmy award for covering the deaths of two domestic violence victims and how their case fell through the cracks.
Levi was born in Cairo, Egypt, but most of his family is from South Sudan. He immigrated to Minnesota, where later attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and played four years of football for the Tommies. Levi now calls Nashville home.
