LEBANON, Tenn. – A Wilson County father has been accused of leading police on a chase before crashing his car with his toddler in the back seat, all while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Officials said police tried to pull over Andrew Barnes near Lebanon High School.
Instead of stopping, officers said he hit the gas and swerved in and out of traffic as he sped through several red lights.
The chase finally came to an end, when one of the officers rammed his squad car into Barnes' vehicle.
Barnes' one-year-old daughter was found in the back seat with a few cuts from broken glass. The child was placed into DCS custody.
Barnes was arrested and is facing multiple charges.
