Brentwood police search for masked gunman who shot clerk

The Brentwood Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery and shooting at a Mapco convenience store.

Officers were called to the Mapco in the 100 block of Franklin Road at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Brentwood police said a gunman tried to get money from the clerk and then shot the clerk in the torso.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was treated and released. 

The suspect was wearing a white mask and white gloves, faded, torn jeans, and a black hooded jacket over a white shirt.
