A Davidson County Sheriff's Office lieutenant was taken into custody.
Derrick Gleaves was arrested Friday night for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly pulling out his handgun and threatening to shoot two people.
According to witness reports, a man was taking a car to a woman at her workplace off Cumberland Bend.
Gleaves, who was in full uniform, followed the man into the parking lot, blocked him in, and accused the man of having a sexual relationship with his wife.
The man confronted Gleaves, who got a handgun out of his vehicle.
Gleaves then reportedly yelled that he should shoot both the man and the woman. According to reports, he then left the scene.
He has been placed on administrative leave.
