An investigation remained ongoing after a woman was injured in a late night hit-and-run in Hermitage.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the incident happened around 9:15 p.m. Sunday on Saundersville Road in Hermitage near Shute Lane.
The pedestrian was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries. Her name was not known.
Investigators said her condition has been upgraded to stable.
According to police, the driver may not have realized that the woman had been hit, but didn't stop or slow down.
An officer on the scene noted that the area is dark and doesn’t have many street lights. That may have been a factor in the incident.
Investigators were looking for a black sedan. No additional details were known.
