WHITE HOUSE, Tenn. – Country singer Lauren Alaina has been set to play the Grand Ole Opry once again, but earlier in the day she got to perform for a special audience.
The singer entertained a crowd of kindergarten through 4th graders at the H.B. Williams Elementary School in White House Friday.
She sang a few songs and even read a story to the group.
“I was excited that they were excited to see me, so it’s really rewarding to come into a room and kind of not know what to expect, you know because they’re little kids, and they loved it,” Alaina said. “They had such a good time, so it was really rewarding for me.”
And the biggest surprise of all, Dollar General donated $50,000 to the school, which made the school assembly extra special.
