CHARLOTTE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two people were killed in a crash Sunday night on I-40 in Dickson County.

A car headed east on I-40 ran into the back of a flat bed tractor trailer that was stopped for another crash around 9:30 p.m., according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The crash happened near mile marker 178, just east of I-840.

Officials with Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed Monday afternoon that the driver of the vehicle, Bayleigh Grimes, 23, and passenger Jordyn Schrock, 19, were both killed in the collision. A 20-year-old man and 2-month-old infant were also in the vehicle and injured in the crash, but they are both expected to survive.

All passengers involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, and the baby was restrained in an appropriate car seat, says THP.

All eastbound lanes were closed for the investigation. TDOT HELP trucks helped divert traffic onto I-840.

All eastbound lanes reopened just before 1 a.m. Monday, according to TDOT.

THP says that no charges are expected to be filed.
