Woman's October Death Ruled A Homicide

Posted

The death of a Nashville woman back in October has been ruled a homicide by investigators.

Officials with Metro police said Pamela Zanardi’s body was found inside her Cheyenne Boulevard apartment on October 12.

Her body was found after a friend, who had not heard from her in several days, asked police to check the apartment.

Although the 46-year-old suffered from seizures and other health issues, police said injuries to her body raised suspicion at the time.

Autopsy results released Wednesday prompted officials to rule the death as a homicide.

Police said strong leads have been developed in the case. The investigation remains ongoing pending the Medical Examiner’s conclusions.

During officer's preliminary investigation, they were searching for the man pictured with Zanardi in surveillance footage.

Officers told NewsChannel 5 that they located and interviewed him. He remains a person of interest, but there have been no arrests.

Zanardi's neighbors said that man in the picture was her boyfriend.  He used to come pick her up at her apartment on Cheyenne Boulevard quite often.

They said she was quiet and mostly kept to herself. Her downstairs neighbor says she never heard them arguing.

"She was always to herself, other than that heavy set guy. She used to live over here on this side at first and then and then she moved up over me," said neighbor, Tamara Osasosifo.

Another neighbor said Zanardi was suffering from PTSD, and often had a social worker visiting her.

If you have any information about the homicide, officials have asked you to call Crime Stoppers.
