1 Person Injured In North Nashville Shooting

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department responded to a shooting in North Nashville connected to a targeted robbery.

The incident happened just before 3 p.m. at an apartment at 1610 Underwood Street between 17th Avenue North and Underwood Street.

A 69-year-old man was taken to Vanderbilt Medical University with a gunshot wound in critical/stable condition.

Police said Frank Lymon Jr. was inside the apartment with two children and three female adults when three masked gunman forced their way inside and demanded money. 

At least one of the gunman opened fire hitting Lymon. The three suspects ran away in nearby alley.  

A school in the area was on lock down for a brief time as suspects were on the loose. 

North Precinct detectives were looking into whether the shooting was connected to drug activity.
