35-Year-Old Arrested After Murfreesboro Stabbing

Officials with the Murfreesboro Police Department said a man was critically injured in a stabbing, and an arrest has been made.

The crime happened just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Old Fort Parkway.

According to reports, officers were called to the scene because of a fight. Once there, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Emergency crews treated him at the scene, and he was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital before being transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The victim was later identified as 61-year-old Martin Kobe, of Murfreesboro. He was last listed in critical condition.

The suspect was identified as 35-year-old Joshua Kolwalski, of Murfreesboro. He was taken into custody at the scene.

Kolwalski was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. He was being held at the Rutherford County Sherriff’s Office on a $50,000 bond.
