Several demonstrations were planned as President Donald Trump holds a rally in Nashville.

Wednesday marked Trump's first trip to Nashville since winning the election; however, not everyone was thrilled with the president’s visit.

Many groups who planned demonstrations called their events “solidarity marches,” with much of the focus on the Affordable Care Act.

Demonstrators Rally, Protest President's Visit

Groups could be seen in multiple locations ahead of the president's visit and while he was taking part in a wreath-laying ceremony at The Hermitage for the 250th birthday of Andrew Jackson.

Those groups also gathered in Public Square Park in hopes of making their voices heard.

One of the groups protesting Wednesday was Planned Parenthood. One protester said Planned Parenthood has been under attack for years, and they fear this administration could bring it to an end by losing funding.

"Planned Parenthood has been under the gun for a long, long time, and this is potentially the administration that can do it under," said Jennifer Wilson of Power Together Tennessee.

In recent months, there have been rallies and protests all over the country – including Nashville – both for and against President Trump and his proposed policy changes.

People said they're asking for details about the healthcare reform plan proposed by Congress. They want to know what it will cost families, and how it will affect the most vulnerable members of society – such as children and the elderly.

People will also be out voicing concerns about changes in immigration policies and public education.
