Gallatin will be the city with the longest period of totality in Tennessee.

Triple Creek Park in Gallatin is expected to be one of the best spots to view the eclipse with a total time in the dark expected to be about two minutes and 40 seconds.

People are already out getting ready for the historic event in just a few hours.

Gallatin kicked things off early this weekend with their Pre-Eclipse Bluegrass Street Jam. Twelve different groups played on five stages Saturday night.

Hundreds of visitors made quite a lengthy journey, some as far away as Japan, to get one of the best views of the total solar eclipse in the country.
