Several local agencies took part in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Addiction Campuses, the Williamson County Anti-Drug Coalition, the Brentwood Police Department, the University of Tennessee School of Pharmacy, and those with the Drug Enforcement Agency collected 122 pounds of prescription medication Saturday.

The medicine will be transported to an incinerator in Alabama to be destroyed.

The annual event has been aimed at providing a safe and convenient way to dispose of unused prescription medication.
