More than 900 people packed into a room at the Omni Nashville Hotel downtown as a way to help local veterans.

National and local leaders like Congressman Diane Black, State Representative Beth Harwell, and Nashville Mayor Megan Barry were among the many enjoying the 7th annual Heroes Breakfast on Friday.

Operation Stand Down Tennessee was behind it all. The organization has helped veterans with job readiness, resume preparation, interview skills, and much more.

John Krenson, CEO of Operation Stand Down Tennessee, said their work has been as important as ever for our troops returning to civilian life.

“Especially with today's world, everything is so fast, so much going on, trying to make a major life transition there's a lot of pressure, so trying to connect our veterans as soon as we can within their transition really sets them up for the long haul,” Krenson said.

Krenson added they've been met with overwhelming support in Nashville with this event growing every year.
