A man was arrested in Murfreesboro after police said he asked a mother to have sex with her 7-year-old daughter.
Murfreesboro Police officers arrested Edward Vanepps on Monday at the Baymont Inn.
He allegedly tried to pay the mom $100 to have sex with the little girl.
According to officers, when she refused Vanepps' offer, he then tried to make her more comfortable with the idea by saying he had sold his own 8-year-old daughter in the past.
The mother immediately notified police. Vanepps was then arrested and charged with solicitation of a minor to commit child rape.
