Police were called to an area of La Vergne due to reports of an armed man running through neighborhoods.
Reports began coming in Monday morning in the area of Plantation Drive and Hurricane Circle.
La Vergne High School was placed on a precautionary, code yellow lockdown while police investigate the issue.
Rutherford County School officials said the incident is not school related.
Officials confirmed they are searching for a white male with black pants and no shirt. He’s believed to be armed with a gun and a knife.
