A robber followed a Hickman County family into their home, pulled out a gun, and demanded jewelry.

It happened Monday night on Church Road in Bon Aqua. Matthew Roberts and his 7-year-old daughter, Addie, were carrying groceries inside when the thief followed them through the front door.

"He had a gun out like this, he walked straight up to me and he said where's the jewelry and hit me with the barrel of the gun right here in the face," Matthew said.

His daughter sat just feet away in the living room, crying for the person to stop.

"He had a knife in his back pocket," Addie said. "And when he hit my daddy's face, he had his finger on the trigger, like he was going to shoot it."

The robber used duct tape to tie Matthew's wrists behind his back, ordered him to the ground, and ransacked the house. Eventually, he left and stole Matthew's phone.

"He left with my daddy's phone and I locked the door," Addie said. "Then I tried to find scissors to cut the tape off, but I couldn't, so I had to find a sharp knife to cut the tape off."

Matthew took his daughter to a relative's home and called police. The Hickman County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
