NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in North Nashville.
Metro Nashville Police said the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in an alley behind Garfield Street.
Witnesses told officers at least two people fired shots at a man and his 18-year-old nephew, Keith King, while they were driving down an alley at Cheatham Place public housing.
Police said King was in the front seat of his uncle's car when he was shot.
One resident told officers she pulled her family to the ground when she heard the gunfire.
According to investigators, the uncle drove King to a nearby home and left him there as he went to get help. King died moments later.
Detectives quickly identified Hollis Harbison as one of the suspects.
He was arrested at the scene moments later after officers said he fired more shots nearby; however, at the time there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him with murder.
Harbison was booked overnight Monday.
Detectives said they’re interviewing him and are working to identify a possible second shooter. The motive for the shooting remained unknown.
