Two Juveniles Escape Custody In Nashville; 1 Captured

A search got underway Monday morning for two juveniles that escaped custody in Nashville. One of them was captured later in the morning, but the second remained on the loose.

Officers with Metro Nashville Police said the two teens were incarcerated at the G4S Stones River Academy on Stewarts Ferry Pike. 

Both of the teens were convicted felons. Officers believe they escaped shortly before 1 a.m. through a rear window of the building and ran toward a wooded area.

One of them, a 16-year-old, was apprehended late Monday morning by the Carthage Police Officers in Smith County.  

The teen refused to answer police's questions about how he made it from Nashville to his hometown.

The second teen, Jacob S. Byrd had not yet been captured, Byrd, who was in state custody for aggravated burglary out of Hamilton County, and the 16-year-old made it out of a window at the G4S facility around 12:30 a.m.
