The world has been watching and waiting on April the giraffe to give birth on live stream.

The viral sensation has many people interested in the birthing process for the wild animals.

Nashville's own giraffes at the Nashville Zoo spent their Monday soaking up the sunshine.

Yet, as for everyone at home watching the live cameras of April, we asked zookeepers about what to expect when the time comes for the baby to arrive.

"At times, the moms are looking really uncomfortable. she'll start lifting her tail up a lot and walking around in circles. It almost looks like she's squatting but she doesn't actually squat. Then, as it gets closer, usually the first thing you'll see is the feet stick out. They'll be really uncomfortable and then all of a sudden the feet are there. It's a very quick process once it actually happens," said Amelia Davis.

They said once giraffe gives birth, the baby will try and get up and walk as quickly as possible.

That's because in the wild, lions prey on the newborns and they want to be able to get up and run as soon as they can.
