One person was taken into custody and another remains on the run after a violent, broad daylight robbery in Nashville.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the incident was reported around 1 p.m. Monday in a popular area of town.

A man and two women had just finished lunch at Taco Mamacita, located at the corner of Villa Place and Edgehill Avenue, and were walking home when they were robbed by two men loitering outside a home.

The victims said the men pointed guns and stole their belongings before running away through someone's back yard.

Detectives identified 19-year-old Sandrez Johnson as one of the suspects, thanks to nearby surveillance and a witness. He was arrested at the nearby Edgehill homes.

Police think Johnson may be connected to other robberies in the Edgehill area.

Just a couple weeks ago, three young men tried to rob a 66-year-old woman at gunpoint in the same 1000 block of Villa Place.

Police haven’t yet said if the incidents are connected, but the investigation continues.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
