Police identified the man killed in a South Nashville shooting as Rickie Cornell Anderson.
The incident happened around 2:20 p.m. Friday on Charles E. Davis Boulevard in the J.C. Napier public housing development.
According to police, 43-year-old Anderson of Creekwood Drive was shot when he was targeted by someone in the crowd he was in.
Anderson was hit in the midsection and died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Detectives said they were working on active leads in the investigation.
